Digitizing your business processes not only saves time, but also helps you avoid common human errors. Especially in wholesalers or organizations with complex logistics processes, small mistakes can have major consequences. Here, a good ERP package is often the backbone of error-free and efficient cooperation.

1. Errors in order picking

   Almost nowhere does so much go wrong due to simple manual errors, as in your warehouse. As a wholesaler, you often sell thousands of different products, some of which are also very similar. As a result, there is a chance that wrong pickings or wrong deliveries will occur. Naturally, this incurs additional costs, including returns. Moreover, it leads to dissatisfaction among your customers.

2. Selling products that are out of stock

   The same thing happens when booking deliveries. In the manual checking of delivered goods and their counting, things can quickly go wrong. This makes it seem as if you have more or less goods in stock than you really have. You then easily sell a product that, on closer inspection, turns out not to be available, resulting in annoyance and delayed delivery times.

3. Order processing errors

   In companies where orders come in by mail or phone, but are not automatically booked into your ERP system, many mistakes are also made. Someone in your company puts the orders into the system or otherwise forwards the order confirmation to the responsible employees.Especially when "retyping" is required, many errors occur.

   There are also many orders that come in incomplete and it is not possible to link or bundle orders. For overall planning, this is a major shortcoming.

4. Changes to existing assignments do not reach the right person

   Do you communicate a lot via e-mail and phone, but without using an ERP system? Then chances are there will be updates on existing orders that you would like to include in the order process.

   In practice, however, the new information regularly does not reach the right employee or is not linked to the right order. Precisely because there are "many disks in between," things quickly go wrong, resulting in dissatisfied customers and frustrated employees.

5. Promising deadlines that cannot be met

   Planning in your company depends on several different business processes. Even if some departments in your company do use software for their business processes, the overall picture is lacking.

   If you have not implemented an ERP package, you regularly have to make estimates when it comes to delivery times that you cannot accurately substantiate. Chances are, when making such an estimate, you will overlook a factor that is critical to meeting the deadline.

6. Inadvertently overwriting important documents or articles

   It's familiar to everyone: someone has put an important document or a new item on the server that needs to be used by multiple people. A potential risk in that all those people could inadvertently change units, prices or codes that could completely mess up your processes.

   In an ERP system, however, there are several powers and you can also fall back on change history, making it easy to correct any errors.

7. Loss of paper documents

   By working digitally and mobile, your employees no longer have to work with handwritten documents. From now on, your service employees will receive their assignments via their smartphone or tablet, and your sales people will submit orders digitally while they are at the customer. Duplicating quasi-illegible cat calls in the office? That's a thing of the past.
