Six years ago, Christiaan Verhagen of Gelecon chose Wholesale as his ERP system. A choice Gelecon has not regretted for a second. "The system can do everything we wanted and so much more!"

Until six years ago, cleaning supplies specialist Gelecon used its own custom ERP system. However, this system was seriously outdated and the only person who could maintain it had since retired. Adjustments and new wishes could no longer be realized and the mountain of manual operations grew by the day.

Just entering new products was an enormous amount of work. Not surprising as a wholesaler with over 21,000 products from 500 different suppliers in stock. Time for something different!

Demo

Verhagen wanted at least a full-fledged ERP system that included the complete warehouse management and the (financial) administration of the technical department. In addition, inventory management was important and, if possible, it would also be convenient if invoicing could be done directly from new ERP system.

In his search, Verhagen compared three different ERP packages, but Wholesale stood out. The demo he requested from Logres convinced him immediately. "The possibilities are basically unlimited and the beauty of it is that everything has been thought of. You notice that this system is really made for wholesalers."

You notice that this system is really made for wholesalers.

Record time

In a record time of just four months, the old system was replaced for the new one. "I'm kind of proud of that, too. So it was really hard work for everyone, but we met the predetermined deadline."

During implementation, Verhagen tried to involve his staff in the process as much as possible. I wanted their input: after all, they have to work with it. Moreover, I wanted them "on board" for the new system: after all, the success of such a system depends largely on its acceptance in the organization."

No turning back

Some 20 people at Gelecon now work daily in Wholesale. "Actually, we intended to leave the old system in place for a while, as a fallback. But within just a few days we noticed that we had much more confidence in Wholesale and no one wanted to go back to the old way of working."

Trust

What positively surprised Verhagen was the cooperation with both Wholesale and Logres. "You notice that those two parties talk to each other a lot and trust each other. Both companies visit me regularly to hear if I have any input or ideas for the further development of Wholesale.

Pretty extraordinary that a party like Wholesale thinks my opinion of the system is important.

I find that quite special: that such a large party (Wholesale) cares what I think. Logres also comes along regularly with input and new ideas. I appreciate that enormously."
