Assembly

Many wholesalers not only buy and sell, but also provide a piece of added value in the form of assembly.

The Assemblage, Assemblage+ and Outsourced Work modules have been developed in Wholesale specifically for those wholesalers.

Automating the assembly process can be quite complex: in fact, during assembly, many different business processes come together. Assembly has elements of purchasing, planning, sales and inventory management in it, but none of the modules associated with it are completely satisfactory.

Assembly has elements of purchasing, scheduling, sales and inventory management in it, but none of the modules associated with it are completely satisfactory. Therefore, a separate module is needed.

Why a separate module?

Companies that do not have software for their assembly often run into problems. For example, individual components may have already been sold to a customer when they were needed for an assembly order or vice versa: you think certain components are in stock, when in fact they have already been assembled into a finished product.

Also, a lot of loose inventory movements have to be kept manually for booking up finished goods and writing off loose components. This is very error-prone and also quite time-consuming.

Things get even more complicated when outsourced assembly is involved. Manually controlling this process is difficult, time-consuming and extremely error-prone. Fortunately, it can be done differently! What options are there?

The Assembly module helps you optimize your response to production, supply and demand

Assembly

Here, you can create assembly orders for your employees. When an assembly order is created, the components are automatically reserved for this process and (virtually) moved to the assembly warehouse, removing them from the sales inventory.

The assembly worker uses the assembly slip to gather the components and assemble the final product. After completion, the final product is added to the total sales inventory.

Assembly orders can also be requested directly from the sales order.

Assembly+

Is your assembly process a little more complicated than the standard? For example, because your assembly also needs to include another semi-finished product? Then the module Assemblage + is a solution.

This module has more layers and in all these layers there is room for automation, for example when it comes to planning, calculating lead time, price calculation and purchasing components and subcomponents. It is possible to create a purchase order directly from the assembly.

Subcontracted work

Is part of the assembly done remotely by another company? For example, in a sheltered workshop or by a partner abroad? Then the module Outsourced Work comes in handy.

Not only does this module streamline communication and assembly orders, but it is also possible to include an additional cost component for machining in the total price of the final product.

Because these costs are charged separately, you can separately reconcile the purchase invoice for these costs with the assembly. As a result, the assembly result is accurately reflected in the accounting records.

Assembly Consulting

Super convenient is the assembly advice. This advice is provided automatically based on stock take or automated forcasts based on previous years.

You can then create assembly orders in a timely manner, keeping your finished product minimum inventory at the desired minimum level.

Traceability

If you, as a wholesaler, assemble products, it is often desired that the original origin of the subcomponents be included in the final product.

Should something be out of order, this allows you to quickly see where the problem is and recall batches if necessary. All this is possible if you work in Wholesale use with batch registration.
