More in the browser, smarter with AI

Logres has been working with SAP Business One since 1993 and has seen new features added with every release. In October 2026, SAP published a new Roadmap for SAP Business One. The common thread is good news for those making a long-term choice: the software is becoming more mature in the browser, smarter with AI, and is the subject of substantial global investment.

That last point is perhaps the most important one. More than 85,000 companies use SAP Business One, and development never stops. You don’t choose an ERP system just for this year, but for the coming decade.

Below, we’ll walk you through the highlights: what’s already working, what’s in the pipeline, and what version 11 will bring. You can download the full Roadmap at the bottom of the page.

What’s New Now

The biggest development in recent times is the Web Client: the version of SAP Business One that runs in the browser. It’s catching up more and more with the familiar desktop version. Sales, purchasing, inventory, service, production, and projects can now be handled there, as can approval workflows and the integration with Microsoft 365, which allows you to export directly to Excel and Word and work from within Outlook.

The Web Client adds smarter analytics to the mix. In every list view, you can filter, group, and visualize data, and compile custom reports from multiple sources. A new feature is AI-powered assistance. With AI UDQ, you describe in plain language what data you’re looking for, after which the system constructs the query—which you then review and save as a reusable dataset. With Ask AI, you can ask a question about the values you’ve selected on your screen and receive a text-based answer.

You no longer need database knowledge to derive well-founded insights from your own data.

In addition, work has been done on the less visible but equally important aspects: logging in with your own identity provider and two-step verification, broader support for the latest servers and databases, and a central management center for companies running SAP Business One in the cloud. It’s the kind of foundation you don’t see every day, but it’s what keeps things running.

What’s on the agenda

Upcoming releases will continue this trend. The Web Client will be further expanded, including financial functions, payments, and more production and inventory capabilities, so there will be less and less reason to switch to the desktop. Here’s an example of how this saves time in practice: purchase invoices are created automatically because the system reads the data directly from the document itself.

For Dutch companies, compliance with laws and regulations is a key concern. Planned updates include an updated ICP declaration, a new version of the audit file, and an update to the Intrastat declaration. These are exactly the kinds of things that need to be correct—and it’s better to have them set up right automatically than to have to work around them yourself.

SAP is also expanding integration capabilities, adding support for Microsoft SQL Server 2025, and further developing AI scenarios. An overview of all the features is available on the page listing the modules and functionalities.

SAP Business One Version 11: First Preview in 2027

The biggest announcement looks even further ahead. SAP is working on version 11, with a first preview scheduled for 2027. This new version is focused on the cloud: running on major cloud platforms, direct integration with cloud storage services such as SharePoint, OneDrive, and Google Drive, and a simpler installation and update process.

Importantly, you’re not forced to make a choice. SAP Business One will continue to run on the desktop and will continue to support both SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL. Whether you’re in the cloud or running on your own servers, the choice is yours. Meanwhile, improvements to the Web Client will continue as planned in 2026 and 2027.

For a wholesaler or process manufacturer, that’s the heart of the matter. You’re choosing a solution that meets your current needs while also offering a clear path forward for the coming years. That’s the difference between software you’ll have to replace in a few years and a system that evolves with your business.
