Doing what you say and saying what you do

Clear communication—that’s what Ingrid van de Graaf loves. She’s been working in planning at Logres for many years, so she’s a familiar face to customers. "My work is all about communication: both internal and external.

As a planner, Ingrid is the spider in the web between Logres' clients, colleagues on projects and sales colleagues. Every day her mailbox floods with requests from clients and colleagues.

Her job is to schedule everything and make sure the right man or woman is in the right place at the right time. A challenging job, Ingrid finds. 'No day is the same with me. I can't predict in advance what my day will look like.'

Ingrid: "I like to make clear agreements about what a client can expect from us. Doing what you say and saying what you do is kind of my motto. Explaining and managing expectations is important. The important thing is that clients can trust us to keep our agreements.'

IT dinosaur

Ingrid: "For me, the corona crisis hardly changed my working day. I already worked from home a lot when hardly anyone did. Fortunately, I have my own little office and can separate work and private life very well. The combination with my colleagues makes it fun and sociable.

In her career, Ingrid has not always been a planner. She was a Unit4 Multivers (now Wholesale) consultant for many years, and before that she worked on the support desk for the same package. 'I really am an IT dinosaur ... In the beginning I even worked with the DOS version. Nice and clear! Sometimes I still miss working with the keyboard a little.

Visiting customers was also something Ingrid enjoyed, but when she got the opportunity to work as a planner, she took it with both hands. "I wanted to see what it's like on the other side of Logres. I love the variety, the customer contacts and also have real satisfaction when at the end of the day everything has been managed by me and when all the open ends have been tied up. That's the challenge and satisfaction of this job.

Beacon

Ingrid's substantive ERP knowledge is, of course, a great advantage for customers. Ingrid: "I can quickly estimate how big a problem is, how much time it will take to solve and whether it is business-critical or not. Moreover, I am familiar with the terminology and speak the language of the system administrator and consultants. So I quickly understand what the issue is about.

As a planner, Ingrid is a constant beacon for many clients. Because she has worked at Logres for many years, many customers know her personally and vice versa. Ingrid: "I have a good memory. If a customer has just become a grandfather, I always try to ask about it at the next contact. But I can often also effortlessly remember recent adjustments to the system. Customers appreciate that and I often get that back.
