Prepare Your Product Data for the Digital Product Passport

The Digital Product Passport is on its way. With it, more and more product information will become available digitally—from origin and materials to sustainability, certifications, and circularity. But where do you manage all that information when SAP Business One plays a key role within your organization?

In this hands-on webinar, Logres and Bluedesk will demonstrate how SAP Business One, Product Information Management, and the Digital Product Passport work together seamlessly.

What is the Digital Product Passport?

The Digital Product Passport, or DPP for short, is a digital collection of information about a product. The specific data required varies by product group. This includes information about materials, origin, sustainability, certifications, and other product specifications.

Much of this information already exists within organizations. However, it is often scattered across SAP Business One, Excel, documents, and other systems. This makes it difficult to centrally manage product information and make it reliably available.

The Role of PIM

A Product Information Management (PIM) system helps collect, structure, enrich, and manage comprehensive product information in a single, centralized location.

Consider, for example:

  • Technical Specifications
  • Materials and Product Features
  • Certifications and Documentation
  • Images and commercial product information
  • Data for the Digital Product Passport

From that central source, the same reliable product information can then be used for, for example, a web store, customer portal, datasheet, or the Digital Product Passport.

How does PIM work with SAP Business One?

SAP Business One remains the foundation for key business processes and product data. A PIM system does not replace SAP Business One, but rather complements it.

For example, SAP Business One can provide product data, while additional and enriched product information is managed centrally in PIM. By intelligently connecting both systems, you can minimize duplicate data entry and disjointed data sources. This allows you to use reliable product information for both the Digital Product Passport and your existing sales channels.

What to expect.

During the webinar, we’ll clearly illustrate the connection between DPP, PIM, and SAP Business One. We’ll show you where each piece of information belongs, how these systems can complement one another, and how you can start laying a solid foundation now to meet future product data requirements.

No theoretical talk—just practical explanations to help you better understand what the Digital Product Passport means for your organization.
