SINNER
SINNER began in the mid-1990s as an importer and wholesaler of various fashion brands. Over the years, however, SINNER has not only designed and manufactured its own products, but also sold directly to customers. Just find an ERP package to go with that....
SINNER imports sunglasses, (ski) helmets, bags, flip-flops, (sports) clothing and accessories from Turkey and the Far East. Many are produced there exclusively for SINNER, to their own design. SINNER sells the products to retailers: specialty shops, but also larger chains such as Perry Sport and formerly V&D.
At larger chains, the company uses the shop-in-shop concept: the products are sold in a separate corner of the store. In addition, SINNER also has its own store in Amsterdam and online a webshop. As if that were not enough variety, SINNER's products are also available through retailers' webshops.
Anything but standard
Bas de Geus of SINNER says, "We had been working with another ERP package for years, but that package was intended more for standard wholesalers. However, we are anything but standard.
Over the years, we had to add more and more functionality (or have it built) to make the ERP package work for us. We even had to have some calculations done outside the ERP package. We never really knew how many products we actually had in stock. At a certain point, that situation was no longer tenable.
Cooperation extended
Although SINNER has been a Logres customer for many years, all options were open during the orientation phase, Bas says.
"We looked at several packages and had several implementation partners over for a demo. Yet we soon came back to Logres. Logres had a good alternative for us in SAP Business One. This package met our needs much better and the possibilities for additions and customization are enormous!"
For Bas, the familiarity of Logres was also important. "Logres knows our company inside and out and was already familiar with all the functionalities we were using. I know what I got from them and have confidence in the quality of delivery. At Logres, a deal is always a deal. In short: every reason to extend our cooperation."
Consignment stock
One of the more complex functionalities used by SINNER is real-time consignment stock. SAP Business One keeps track of which SINNER products are at retailers that have not yet been sold. Because of the store-in-store concept, these products are owned by SINNER until they are sold to consumers.
Bas: "The consignment stock, in turn, also affects our customers' webshops. So not only our own webshop is linked to SAP: so are those of our retailers. It must be clear everywhere in real time how many products are in stock and what the delivery time is.
For SINNER, real-time stock is a huge step forward. We can now always deliver what people order and never have any surprises. You should know how much inconvenience, arrangement and hassle that saves!"
Speed
Another gain of the new ERP package, according to Bas, is its speed, in the broadest sense of the word. "Things load faster, calculations go faster, but we also have to perform fewer actions to get a certain result, for example.
Things that we previously had to do manually are now automated. For example, we can now have individual bank statements automatically linked to (purchase) orders: that saves a lot of work. In the future, we also want to have invoices read automatically."
Sales App
Bas and his team are certainly not sitting still. Now that SAP Business One is up and running, there are countless new possibilities they are eager to explore. Bas: We are now upgrading to SAP Business One version 10.0. After that, we are going to connect the sales team.
We are exploring options in the SAP Business One Sales App, as well as looking at a number of other apps that we can link. That way salespeople can enter orders directly on site and have real-time access to all the data they might need in a sales call.
Priorities
Bas: Logres and SINNER have been partners for a long time now. "Logres understands perfectly where our priorities lie and knows, even without asking, when to step on the gas and when things can take a little longer.
In terms of planning, we regularly have last-minute changes and Logres actually always responds very reasonably. They think with you: that is what makes the cooperation so pleasant."
Right on cue
Bas: "In January 2020, we completed the process and immediately it became clear how good it was that we did this.
The system really works perfectly for us and was launched - in retrospect - at exactly the right time. A month later we were in the midst of the corona crisis and a delivery would not have been easy. Now we were able to continue working just fine during this period and take full advantage of the possibilities that SAP Business One offered us."
