Technibear
Metal processing company Technibear makes transport rollers of all shapes and sizes. Until last year, the administrative work was still done the old-fashioned way: manually using a DOS-related program. The introduction of SAP Business One provided a huge efficiency boost.
For Technibear, a "gentle transition" to a new way of working was hugely important. "We had been doing administrative operations in the same way for maybe 20 years," explains company manager Michael de Pagter. "You don't change that in a backroom afternoon."
Connection
De Pagter: "I know too many companies that suddenly switch to an entirely new way of working overnight. In practice, that often brings a lot of problems and hassle. I therefore first wanted to implement a version of SAP Business One that matched our existing way of working as closely as possible. Logres understood that immediately and helped us to continue the existing way of working as much as possible in SAP Business One."

Further development
The transition from the old way of working to SAP Business One therefore went almost without a hitch. However, once that step was taken, SAP offered many starting points for automating other administrative business units as well.
De Pagter: "Since the commissioning of SAP, I have gone through perhaps forty modifications. We keep going one step further and are making more and more use of the capabilities of the ERP package."
Logres is a good and reliable ERP partner for Technibear. De Pagter: "The employees at Logres understand where we want to go, are open to our arguments and do their best to help us as much as possible. I already noticed during the orientation process that they are willing to really immerse themselves in our production. I appreciate that."

Smooth
During the implementation, which lasted four months, the Logres consultant visited the Technibear office every two weeks and gave Michael and his colleagues "homework." Progress was monitored via an online planboard. De Pagter: "It actually all went very smoothly. We weren't in a hurry, but we still managed to make the switch within a relatively short period of time."
SAP Business One now helps Technibear process orders and quotes and ensures that the right people and resources are in the right place when needed. As a result, the overall turnaround time for an order has been reduced by nearly two-thirds.
"We can now provide better and faster information on when a customer can expect their product, and the logistics process prior to production also runs more efficiently.
Next Step
The next step for us is to have SAP also predict when we need to make new purchases. This is not as easy for a manufacturer as it is for a wholesaler, but we have come a long way."
