Internationally active trading company

Toko International has specialized in hand tools and related items for do-it-yourself purposes in the home, garden and garage. Most products are imported from the Far East, indicates Edwin de Vreugt, Buyer and responsible for ICT within Toko International.
Through a large network of representatives and agents, Toko International serves all countries in Europe and also the overseas territories. The articles are delivered from stock and - to guarantee fast delivery - taken care of by reliable logistic partners.

Island Automation
One of the biggest problems was the extra-accounting way of working within Toko International. Here data is processed outside the accounting program. For example, in separate lists or different spreadsheet programs. This is often referred to as island automation.

This way of working means that there are often multiple versions of the truth and thus business operations are less transparent, and wrong decisions can be made because information cannot be interpreted properly or in different ways.

For example, at Toko International, in addition to Big Bear for DOS, 2 different MS Access databases, Excel and Word were used.

The choice for Wholesale
After seeing the possibilities within Wholesale, it was quickly clear that this was the best solution for Toko International.

Despite two previous failed attempts to switch to Exact and Afas, the choice for this switch was widely supported. The advantages were clear to all. For example, the ability to plan shipments was seen as a great added value. In addition, a better insight into their inventory management was created and orders no longer had to be entered by hand.

At the time of the first appointment with Logres, there was even a car driving back and forth between two locations to bring the warehouse receipts. The possibility of automatically creating warehouse receipts was therefore a breath of fresh air.

Automation must work for you
Edwin de Vreugt explains that by using better forms within Wholesale, the communication towards the customer has become much more dynamic. For example, the layouts are tailored specifically for the customer in question and the data in Wholesale is linked to the CMS of the web shop.

Toko is also very satisfied with the Shipments module. They have to deal with a lot of shipments from the Far East and in Grote Beer there was no possibility to process these. The information that now comes from Wholesale is unambiguous and there are no more different versions of the truth.

Logres has now become the central point of contact for Toko International. If there are questions then it is clear where they can go and partly because of this clear working method, a suitable answer is always found quickly. The switch has been a big step forward. Toko International wanted to create added value for their customers and this goal has now been achieved. Edwin de Vreugt: 'Automation must work for you - and not the other way around.'
