While you use your Unit4 package every day, Unit4 continues to work on improving Wholesale. Two important developments are playing out behind the scenes that you don't want to remember.
During monthly review sessions, newly delivered Unit4 functionalities are reviewed and commented on by Unit4 consultants from Logres. They are constantly thinking about the further development of Unit4 products. In recent weeks, the Unit4 developers have worked hard on a number of new functionalities:
Connectivity using APIs
Wholesale becomes even more attractive for wholesalers when the ERP package can be easily linked to other software programs, for example for web portals, sales, warehousing, scanning and logistics.
The ability to link programs has of course existed in Wholesale for some time, but the technique used required the exchange of separate files. All this will soon be a thing of the past: linking Wholesale with other software is now done using API links.
This way of working ensures that detailed data from external software programs can be shot into the heart of your ERP package - and vice versa. API technology is low-threshold, standardized and easily accessible. Linking data thus becomes a lot easier.

Continuous delivery: updates from the comfort of your armchair
Until now, enhancements to Unit4's package were launched at a pre-selected time as service pack updates. Currently, SP6 is Wholesale's latest version.
For Wholesale users, this often meant they had to download and unpack this update themselves and then install and verify it. Other users asked Logres to do this for them. All in all, each time an update took quite a bit of work for both the user and Logres.
Moreover, the disadvantage of a major update is that a lot changes at once. As a user, you have to get used to quite a few innovations, for example when functionalities or design have changed.
However, Unit4 is moving to continuous delivery from ServicePack6 onwards. This means that updates will be continuously pushed to your ERP installation in smaller steps. You don't have to do almost anything yourself, and you may not even notice. This is very convenient when you have your own business to run.
Want to know what updates are being installed and when? Unit4 is working on a web portal where you can see what updates are planned. You can then immediately anticipate these updates and take advantage of the new features they offer.
