He has been working for Logres since April and already customers are encountering him in various implementation projects. High time to get acquainted with SAP consultant Robert Hoogesteger.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am Robert Hoogesteger, 38 years old, married and I have two children. I live in Druten myself, but for Logres I actually work all over the country. Since April I have been a business consultant, for SAP Business One implementations.

As a consultant, I work intensively with the customer for several months so that SAP Business One is optimally implemented and does exactly what the customer expects of it.

What experience do you bring with you?

I worked as a consultant for a foreign company for many years. This company was mainly in financial software and sold it to multinationals. So clients who buy and sell internationally will find me useful. I know everything about exchange rates, risk hedging and credit value.

But the other sides of SAP Business One are not unfamiliar to me either: I have a degree in Business Administration and can therefore say that I quickly understand how a company is put together and how the fences run.

What do you like about working for Logres?

After all those years of working for multinationals, it's nice to be able to apply the knowledge I've gained to SMEs. The projects here are shorter and deliver immediate results: a nice, workable ERP package that really benefits customers. That does give satisfaction.

As a consultant I enjoy visiting different companies, getting to know the entire organization in a short period of time and really building a relationship of trust. People have to trust me to put their whole life on the table....

What are you good at?

I am naturally calm, friendly and helpful. The customer is number one with me. But I also like to follow through. I am good at separating the essential from the ancillary and quickly see where the gaps are.

I can quickly see through processes and translate them into usable software. This allows me to really take control of such an implementation process and get everyone looking in the same direction.

Are you a soloist or just someone who likes to work together?

I think as business consultants, somewhere we are all soloists: we usually go out on our own.

On the other hand, a lot is asked of my social skills because I have to work with so many people on the customer side. Moreover, as business consultants we speak to each other weekly and in addition we have a monthly knowledge sharing.

In this way we ensure that our knowledge and experience is secured in the organization, so that our customers can benefit optimally from it.
