Providing full support has always been an important pillar for Logres. That is why we are happy to continuously attract new people with experience and technical knowledge. Patrick Haas is one of the new men on the Wholesale team.
Patrick: "The position at Logres was a perfect fit for me. I have years of experience as a financial controller and financial manager. And in recent years I worked for an international wholesaler. So I know better than anyone how important properly functioning ERP software is for our customers.
In addition, I had experience with Unit4 Multivers and the switch to Wholesale was then easily made.'
What appealed to you about Logres?
'I could choose from several companies to work for, but with Logres I clicked right away. The atmosphere here is very open. I felt very welcome. The job is also just a lot of fun.
I enjoy the variety. No day is the same because the incoming issues differ enormously. From simple user questions to larger issues that require a deep dive.
Nothing is more fun than solving a complicated issue, with which you can really help the client move forward. I can enjoy that.
What do you do in a day?
"My job actually has two sides. About 50% of my time I man the support desk and pick up tickets that come in.
The other half of my time I work remotely or on-site at a client's site as a consultant. As a result, I don't just talk to customers by phone, but get to know customers live and see their business from the inside. That is super fun, because if you would only do support desk you always remain a bit at a distance.
The nice thing is that I could start working at Logres immediately, while at the same time taking Wholesale's training courses online. I didn't have to go to school for a few months. I like to be busy and, thanks in part to my own experience and the knowledge of my three support colleagues, we solve every problem quickly.'
How is the atmosphere in the team?
'Which is good. I'm sitting with two colleagues my own age and an experienced rock in the business. We all have the same slant: we want to help the customer as quickly and as well as possible. What that requires is a good assessment of the problem reported to us.
Is the problem threatening the work processes? Or is it urgent because the VAT return date is coming up, for example: then those questions take priority over the rest of the work. Sometimes you have to have a blast together and at other times you can slow down.
For you, where is the satisfaction in a day?
Of course, I get the greatest satisfaction when I have been able to effectively solve a problem for a client. I also enjoy it when I visit a customer for a day and I notice that they really trust me. I like to live up to that trust.
There is nothing like the feeling of "nice work together today" when you drive home at the end of the day.
Do you have another tip for readers?
'Yes! If you're a Wholesale user, you should look into the REST API. That really is a brilliant module. You can do an enormous amount with it! For example, you link the webshop to the package or a CRM system.
I can imagine that customers are sometimes shocked by the cost of this module, but I assure you that it is worth the investment. In these times of staff shortages, the REST API allows you to automate away a lot of work and that saves a lot of time and money. You'll have the module paid for itself in no time.'
