What does an ERP Business Consultant actually do?

At Logres, we help SME wholesalers and companies in the process industry to optimize their business processes using ERP solutions. During such an implementation, as a customer you are closely involved with our regular contact person: the ERP Business Consultant. But what exactly does this role entail?

An ERP Business Consultant combines in-depth knowledge of IT with a keen understanding of business processes. This experience enables them to translate your business processes into efficient digital workflows within an ERP system.

Many of our consultants have years of practical experience in positions such as controller, logistics manager or business operator. As a result, they understand the challenges your organization faces and can really think along with you. They act as a strong sparring partner throughout the implementation process or when you are optimizing the existing system.

The difference between a Business Consultant and a Technical Consultant

The expertise of an ERP Business Consultant differs from that of a Technical Consultant.

Whereas a Technical Consultant focuses on the software code, the consultant focuses on the capabilities and functionalities of ERP packages, such as SAP Business One or Wholesale.

He or she knows exactly how to configure modules, how to add users, and how the different parts of the ERP system fit together.

Should customization be required or technical questions arise, the ERP Business Consultant works closely with the Logres Technical Consultant to arrive at the best solution.

IT knowledge and business acumen

In addition to practical support, an ERP Business Consultant also offers valuable advice on your business processes. Are these optimally set up? Can they be more efficient?
Together you look at the current way of working.

After all: an implementation or optimization is an excellent time to reflect on the overall way of working and not be limited to the technical details alone!

Our consultants ask critical questions, but always provide constructive and results-oriented guidance. The ultimate goal is for the ERP system to move your company forward, not the other way around!

Homework

An ERP implementation can have a major impact on the day-to-day operations of an organization.

Our consultants will help you keep an overview and ensure a smooth implementation. They do this by taking the right actions step by step, in close cooperation with your team.

After each visit, your team receives a clear set of follow-up steps to ensure progress.

Collaboration within the implementation team

The ERP Business Consultant is part of a broader implementation team, which includes people from Logres as well as your own employees. Managers and employees from different departments work together to ensure a successful implementation.

In addition to the Business Consultant, a Project Manager, a Technical Consultant, a Customer Success Manager and a Logres Support Officer are often involved.

Together they ensure that your organization benefits optimally from the combination of substantive business knowledge and technical expertise. Thanks to this close cooperation, implementations and optimizations are completed efficiently and successfully!
